01 Common Sense AI Empowerment
Curious About AI? Confused by It? Maybe Even a Little Afraid?
You don’t have to use AI to begin understanding it.
Join Greg Baran for a relaxed, two-hour introduction to artificial intelligence, explained in everyday language. Designed especially for adults 55 and older who feel uncertain or intimidated by AI — and open to any curious beginner.
No complicated terminology. No technical training. No pressure to try anything. Just common sense, real-world examples, and an opportunity to understand what AI is, what it isn’t, and why it matters.
Starts Thursday, October 22, 2026 1:00–3:00 pm PST Every other Thursday
What You’ll Discover
Understand AI simply
What artificial intelligence is, why it feels different from earlier technology, and how it can work so quickly.
Know its limits
What AI can and cannot do, why it sometimes makes mistakes, and why human judgment remains essential.
See what’s possible
How AI can help people explore ideas, express creativity, and accomplish work that once required specialized skills or considerable effort.
Choose for yourself
Understanding AI does not mean you have to start using it. Your ideas and decisions remain your own.
See What’s Possible
Greg will share examples from his own work: published books, original music, printed posters, and a professional media kit created with AI assistance. These are tangible examples, not technical demonstrations or projects you’ll be asked to create during the seminar.
This Is an Introduction — Not Hands-on Training
Not a hands-on AI workshop or prompt-writing class.
Not technical training or a follow-along computer exercise.
No ChatGPT account, AI software, or AI exercises required.
Already comfortable using AI and looking for advanced techniques, automation, or software instruction? This introductory seminar probably isn’t the right fit.
What to Expect

Understanding Comes Before Using
You don’t need to become a technology expert. Come with questions, explore possibilities, and receive explanations that make sense. Come curious. Leave informed.

“You might refer to it as Unconditional Love for All, you might refer to it as God. I refer to it as Grazynka’s Place, after my wife who showed me how to find my way there.”
